Dee Power holds a Master’s of Business Administration and is a founding partner of Profit Dynamics, a management consulting firm. The company specialized in writing business plans (which investors often consider works of fiction). Clients included large well-known companies, as well as entrepreneurial start-ups. The experience gained from this work provided the inspiration and material for two books she co-authored with Brian Hill, Inside Secrets To Venture Capital, (2001) and Attracting Capital From Angels, (2002), both published by John Wiley & Sons.
Her latest book, The Making of a Bestseller: Success Stories from Authors and the Editors, Agents and Booksellers
Behind Them, includes extensive research on the publishing industry and interviews with bestselling authors, editors, agents and experts.
Dee has been interviewed as a publishing industry expert from the author’s point of view by the New York Times, Washington Post, and the Associated Press.
She has been invited to present at several writers conferences including The San Francisco’s Writers Conference, New Orleans Conference and the Midwest Literary Festival. She also gave the keynote speech at the Foreword Magazine 2005 book awards.
Over Time is her first novel and will be released in October 2005. She has also written several screenplays which are under consideration by a number of film production companies, and is working with Brian on a second novel.
Dee and Brian developed www.capital-connection.com as one of the
first web sites to assist entrepreneurs in their search for
capital. The site has been recognized on a national basis as a
valuable resource and is linked by more than 600 other sites.
Capital-connection.com generates over 1.7 million hits per year
and promotes their first two books.
