About Brian Hill, Author and Screenwriter

Screenplays Brian has written or co-written have been recognized in national and international competitions including 2nd Place in the 2005 Phoenix Film Festival screenplay competition, Finalist in both the 2006 and 2011 FilmMakers International Awards, Semi-Finalist in the 2007 Screenplay Festival competition, Semi-Finalist in the 2008 Scriptapalooza competition, and Finalist in the 2008 Screenplay Festival competition.

He is the co-author with Dee Power of two books on the subject on finding capital, Attracting Capital from Angels, and Inside Secrets to Venture Capital, both published by John Wiley & Sons in New York. In addition, they have written a book that presents an inside look at the publishing industry through the eyes of today's most successful authors, The Making of A Bestseller, published by Dearborn/Kaplan. These books have been published internationally in China and Russia.

In 2013 their book, The Pocket Small Business Owner's Guide to Business Plans was published by Skyhorse Publishers in New York.

Brian is the co-founder of a consulting firm in Fountain Hills, Arizona, that specializes in assisting companies with Business Plan preparation. Over the course of his career he has worked with more than 120 companies across the U.S. and internationally in a wide range of industries and stages of development.

Research his firm has conducted on venture capital industry trends has been widely quoted in national and regional publications, including Business Week online, Investors Business Daily, American Venture magazine, Smart Money, the Journal of Alternative Investments, LA Times, and San Francisco Business Times. He was quoted in the cover story of the August 2008 issue of Entrepreneur magazine. Brian was guest speaker and panelist at the 2005 Arizona Angel Investment Conference, 2005 Midwest Literary Festival and the 2005 New Orleans Writers Conference.

He hs written several hundred business management articles on small business management for and, as well as golf articles for He is a regular contributor to The Motley Fool Stock market analysis website, covering, consumer product companies.

He earned his MBA degree from Arizona State University, and a Certificate in Feature Film Writing from UCLA-Extension.
